Leftover 2012s still available...

I found a dealership in NJ that still has 2012 PFs on their lot...never titled, essentially new, but they have been sitting there a long, long time.

Crazy to consider purchasing a new PF that has little or no warranty left? (I assume the 36 month bumper-to-bumper will expire shortly)

My 2008 is approaching 102k and is our primary family vehicle...so I'm wondering if I need something newer.

warranties generally begin on the first date of sale of the new sold vehicle
what sayeth the dealership?

As mentioned, the warranty usually starts on in-service date.

How cheap can they be bought? I've looked at a couple barely used that were quite reasonable. I'm at 120k and have thought about switching but mine is running flawlessly.

I asked about the warranty start date...haven't heard back yet.

I also asked for some photos...window sticker & general shots bc there aren't really any photos online.

Prices are ~$28k for silver edition, $26k for SV, & $25k for S. I haven't seen what goes into calculating these prices yet (might be wacky discounts that I probably won't qualify for)

They said they have a dozen or so 2012s....saying they bought too many. It just seems weird that a dealer would hang on to these for so long....sitting there for 2 years

I guess whether or not they are a good deal comes down to the question about the warranty

As others have mentioned, the warranty begins on the date of the initial sale, regardless of the model year.

Not much of a discount. That's how much I got my SV brand new two years ago. I'm in NJ too.

Not a huge discount but not a bad deal compared to used pricing. Usually when you go this long, the manufacturer rebates/discounts are gone so the dealers actually get stuck with them. Obviously if they can sell them for an amount marginal to what used one's are selling they should be able to move them. I see used silver editions with 30k-40k miles going for $24k so $28k isn't bad.
