R51 Pathy my opinion

After owning my 2012 R51 Pathfinder for just about a year I must say I really love this truck! I have owned may SUV's over the years my last one being a 2006 Toyota 4Runner that served me quite well for just under 200,000 miles. I must say I prefer to drive my (12) Pathy the seating position is much better and the handling (with air bags installed) is about the same that is to say just fine. The R51 has lots of room I often use the back for work I sell and deliver office equipment and I can get a real good size copier machine in the back quite a bit larger then I could in my 4Runner. I like the V6 power seems just a little quicker then my 4Runner was. The control layout and dash layout is perfect or I think so anyway. I hope it pulls my 5,000 lb (loaded) camper as well as my 4Runner did. Other then that this is one fine truck! Yes it has its quirks but every SUV I have had had some quirks. Frankly I wish Nissan never got rid of the R51 and just updated the styling not that the style of the truck is bad frankly I love the look. Anyway excuse my rant just thought I would voice my opinion.

I feel the same way. I've had a lot of Toyota's and decided to move from a Tundra to a 4Runner as my daily. But I found the seats in the 4R to be horrible. It sent me looking for other vehicles and I found the PF to be better all around. The only concern was long-term reliability. 125k miles later and I really can't complain. Few little things here and there but it's never let me down. I don't normally keep my vehicles this long but there's not really been anything out there that interests me. The '14+ Grand Cherokees are pretty nice but $45k for what I would want. Not sure I want to rack up 25k miles a year on that.

It's a shame it took them 5 years to work out all the problems with them. 2011 and 2012 are the best years to get!

I totally agree there is no excuse for how long it took to solve some of the issues. Esp the radiator cross contamination issue I mean give me a brake!

Besides the radiator, are there other fixes that were made between '08 and the '11 / '12's? I'm wondering what else I should be aware of. :D :o

Yeah, the upper timing chains and fuel sending units are two of them.

The fuel sending unit was taken care of via recall. I thought the upper timing chains were changed on the 08's. Guess I was incorrect about that.
