Valvoline Maxlife ATF - Clearance

All,
Autozone is no longer carrying valvoline max life atf, so it's heavily discounted to $5 for a gallon jug. Usually $20. I was lucky to get the last one. Might be worth a look if needed.

SMJ,
Just did front and rear diff and transfer case, hence the atf. All went smooth thanks to your help!!!
For fluid, new hand pump, shop towels, and a 10mm hex it cost me $85 and took about 2 hours.
Dealer wanted $430!!!!!???????
If anyone is contemplating this, DO IT!!!
My truck just hit 30k and the oil looked ok but was dark in color. Each magnet had normal shavings, nothing major. Nice clean oil all around.
Next up is tranny pan drop and fill.

There's no need to drop the transmission pan; just remove the 19mm drain plug.

But will I still be able to clean off the magnet at the bottom? I had an '05 Explorer and only way to clean magnet was to drop the pan.

I called my local Autozone and they are not on clearance here in Va. It's $19.99 regular price. I was hoping to stock up.

No, you won't be able to clean off the magnet without dropping the pan, but if you have anything on the magnet (which I wouldn't expect much if you have a 2011 model), it's not going to go anywhere. It's not worth the extra work and labor to drop the pan. FYI, if you do insist on dropping the pan, Nissan recommends you replace the bolts as they have sealant on them. At the very least, clean off the old ones with brake cleaner and smear a little RTV silicone sealant on the threads. I would also recommend you stick with a genuine Nissan pan gasket.
