We can't get enough!

I was at my local Nissan dealer on Friday I sell them office equipment so it was a business call. I know a few of the sales guys there and one of them was all over me about trading in my 2012 Pathfinder he says he could have it sold in about an hour! Seems they just can't get enough R51 Pathys. He told me the new Pathy is nice but many people just want the truck type of SUV and he sells all he can used.

A real SUV is certainly becoming a rarity in the wild. Particularly the small/mid-size ones.

Consumer Reports just had an article about all-wheel drive and which vehicles are good and which not so good. The Subaru Forester and Outback were both very good. Both the R52 Pathfinder and the Rogue were on the "not so good" list. I know my 06 LE was fantastic last year in the snow. We don't get huge amounts of snow where I'm at in Virginia, but I got out of work one morning and had to get through ten mile of ten inches of unplowed snow and she went through it with hardly a hiccup!

R52 now has a FWD biased system with a center hydraulic clutch that really can't handle any type of hardcore use. Not much different than the Rogue/CRV/RAV4's of the world. It can lock the axles for a short period of time if you're stuck but generally only sends spurts of power to the rear. Whereas the R51 system is RWD biased with the ability to go 50/50. It's probably more than adequate for the average crossover buyer though.
Tires make the biggest difference in snow.

The new Pathfinder R52 just wont work for me I need both ground clearance and low range for my 4X4. I had to use low twice last year in deep snow not to mention the better towing capacity of the R51 that I also require. For me it came down to another Toyota 4Runner or an R51 Pathfinder and actually the R51 is better for my needs then even the 4Runner.

That's one of the most popular (and successful) marketing campaigns dealers use today. Even the guy with the Versa gets those letters. I've got a fleet of vehicles for business and there's rarely a day I don't get a letter from some dealer trying to buy something.
