The factory tint is not a film, therefore it can not be removed.

I didn't know that, thanks for the info. If I wanted to get them tinted could I still do it? I hate that it's see through and wanted to get something darker put on.

Yes, very common to go over them with more tint. It just doesn't require as dark of a film since you're starting with a dark window. I would think 35% added to the back windows would get you pretty dark. I think that's close to the factory tint to begin with so you'd be doubling it. I know if you put 35% on the front doors they match the rears pretty close.

Do they come factory tinted 35% or 20%?

I would say they're somewhere around 35. Keep in mind the more windows that are tinted the darker they'll look because of a reduction in pass-through light. Just tinting the front sides will make the others appear darker.

I wonder how it would look if I get them tinted with 20% film.

You talking about just the fronts 20% or all of them? I think the fronts at 20% isn't going to match the rears.

PS your avatar pic needs resized. It's filling my 24" monitor!

I was thinking doing 20% all around.

If you add 20% all around your rears will be equivalent to 5% since they are already 35% from the factory. Darker than 35% on the front windows is not legal in many states. If that matters to you, you might check the laws in your state.

And as skinny said, your avatar needs to be shrunk!

Sorry about that. I don't know how to resize it.

Yes as mentioned if you want them all to match and you're putting 20 on rears, you'd have to do 5 on the fronts. That's really dark though but it all comes down to what you want.

Legality is a concern, as mentioned. My friend had bought a 2003 Maxima from Florida and brought it up to VA. They had tinted the front door windows which is fine in FL, but he got pulled over and was given a ticket where he lives in Virginia.

Alright guys thanks for all the info. I'll post pics once I get them tinted.
