Hi all

New here and have just picked up my new to me pathfinder, 05 with 121k km's, anything I should look out for? Any pointers? Tips to make sure engine is reliable enough to keep me going?

Also, I notice a few others with what appear to be roof bars running down side, is this an option extra from factory and can they be retro fitted???

Cheers all

Make sure you do the radiator bypass before you run into transmission problems that's the most important thing to take of. I beleive there is a how to on top of the first page

PLEASE PLEASE check for coolant mixing in the transmission fluid. If there is, return it to the dealer yesterday. If there isn't, count your lucky stars and do the transmission bypass. If you don't, your looking at a new transmission and rad.

Wow, it's as simple as disconnecting two hoses from bottom of rad and plug them into each other?

YES!

It will take you longer to get to the hoses than to actually do the actual job.

Depends where it's made. The door handle problem seems to be more common on the European models than North America. I haven't heard of many (if any) issues with the radiators in those Pathys built in Spain.

My rear door got stuck once. The linkage in the hatch broke loose and I had to have the dealer take apart the whole rear hatch to get it hooked back up. It was a PITA.
