So I went to the dealer, where a bought my 2011 LE, to take a look at the 2013's, just out of pure curiousity. A sales rep came running out to see me and wanted to know if I wanted to trade up to the new 2013. Um, no, I said. Trade up? Beside a few 2013's sat a lonely 2012 LE Silver, I have never seen a Silver Edition Pathfinder before. Trade up?? Does anyone know the differences between an LE Silver Edition and an LE? Trade up???

The only physical difference I could see was on the dashboard. The rounded shroud, over the instrument cluster, had round dimples in the part that faces the driver, mine is flat and smooth. Not sure...trade up???? Really? Not sure if the dimpled shroud is standard on all 2012's. This was the only one left on the lot and the dealer did not have any 2012 brochures left.

Trade up, WTF???

I thought LE and Silver were two different models. As for trading up, we traded up from a 2011 Honda Pilot (base model) to a 2012 PF Silver. The Silver edition has almost all the goodies there is, only two things I sort of wish it had is in dash nav and a sun roof but then again I can always put my head out the window and my wife tells me were to go.

There is no "Silver Edition LE." The "Silver Edition" is a trim level that sits between the "SV" and "LE" trims. From Edmunds.com"

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options

The 2012 Nissan Pathfinder is a midsize seven-passenger SUV offered in five trim levels: S, SV, Silver, LE V6 and LE V8.

Standard equipment on the entry-level S model includes 16-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, roof rack rails, air-conditioning, an eight-way manually adjustable driver seat, cruise control, full power accessories, a tilt steering wheel and a six-speaker stereo with a CD player.

The SV adds 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, foglights, running boards, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air-conditioning, upgraded cloth upholstery, an eight-way power driver seat, power-adjustable pedals, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 7-inch color multi-information display, a rearview camera, a six-disc CD changer and an auxiliary audio jack.

Step up to the Silver trim level and you get heated mirrors, body-color/chrome side moldings, keyless ignition/entry, leather upholstery, a four-way power passenger seat, heated front seats and Bluetooth.

The LE V6 model comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rack crossbars, driver seat memory functions, a heated steering wheel, wood-grain trim and a navigation system with digital music storage. The top-of-the-line LE V8 loses the standard sunroof but gains the 5.6-liter V8 engine and four-wheel drive.

The options list is short and includes a sunroof and the rear-seat video entertainment system.

Hey smj,

It is not that I don't believe you, it more that I don't trust the dealer from playing games. Attached is a photo I took, on my way to work.

I'm only going by what Edmunds says:

I think somebody may have purchased a "SILVER" emblem from Nissan and stuck it under the "LE." Here's what the back door of a Silver Edition looks like:

Okay, I think I have this figured out. It looks like a Canadian thing eh!

In the true north, we had only the three models, S, SV and LE. We never could get the V8 up here . There is an SV Premium package, an SV/LE Entertainment Package and an LE Navigation Package, that can be added on to the base models, with the exception of the S. In 2012, they added an LE Silver Package. With the Silver package, the Entertainment Package is included, you also get the Silver Badge and Rubber Floor Mats. In 2011, they did not have the Silver option, you bought the Entertainment Package and/or the Navigation Package. So in 2011, if you ordered the Entertainment Package, you are still just an LE. Confusing? Yup! I guess that's why I haven't seen any around, until now.

Gonna have another beer, that hurt my head.

Since Canadian and USA Pathfinders are built in the USA, you'd think the models would be the same, I guess they don't trust us with the V8. :?
