The Nissan Path

I replaced my stereo today, which I've done several times. In order to remove the necessary parts of the dash, I put the car in gear while the ignition was off, and engaged the emergency brake. This allows me to pull the part of the dash where the A/C controls are over the gear shift. After a successful install, I put it all back together, but the key will not turn to the Lock position, and I can't remove it. I can start the vehicle, and drive it. But, when I put it in park, and try to turn the key, it won't turn all the way. It seems like I've encountered this problem before, but I don't remember what the solution was. Any thoughts?

weird, only key problem cause i've ever known was when the steering wheel locks (like when you have the key out and turn the wheel) and you can't start the car until you wiggle the wheel to take the pressure off.

i had this problem in my eclipse the cable lock to the ignition was preventing the release of the key.
