The Nissan Path

I dropped off a friend, who was sitting on the passenger side of my 2014 PF. After he left, I continued to drive, but noticed the seatbelt sign (red) is turned on. Why? I've seen this before. It will eventually go away but it's a little annoying to say the least. I know I am fastened. Why would the light be on?

It's a new car. Take it to the dealer. And while you're at it, have them perform the passenger seat recall.
