Adding OEM backup camera to non camera tailgate

I was wondering if I can add an OEM backup camera to a non camera tailgate. Long story short, as you can probably tell from my earlier post, I am in need of a new tailgate. I have located a non camera one, and I am just wondering if I can swap my camera (which still works) over from my damaged tailgate to the new (used) one?
