The Nissan Path

We are bringing our son to college next week. He has a loveseat that will fit in the back of the Pathfinder but the lift gate will not close completely. We'll tie it down safely. Is there a way to disengage the annoying alarm if you have to tie down the liftgate?

I believe the top button on the left-hand side of the steering wheel will silence it. At least that's what you use to silence the sonar beeps.
