paint coming off bumpers

my husband and I purchased a new 2013 SE pathfinder (blue) after trading in our 2009 pathfinder LE V8 (silver)
today we noticed that paint on both the front and rear bumpers was just peeling off? is this normal? this has never happened to any of our previous autos- i know this happens from bumper to bumper taps- but this was just peeling- did not look like it was caused from taps.
very upset as this is only 4 months old
