2013 Pathfinder, liftgate intermittently will open

My liftgate won’t open routinely. It opens maybe once every 10 times. I have to climb through the back to open the liftgate. Please help!
I once had a similar issue albeit on Previous Gen Pathy (2012)
I opened up some of the trim on the back to get access to the mechanism.
Did not take it apart but just sprayed the heck out of it with WD40.
After copious spraying whatever rust particles or dirt had been locking it up had been flushed out.
Not saying this simple fix will work for you but its basically free to try..
