The Nissan Path

First 900 miles, car has been getting 16.8 mpg according to the trip computer.

We've had some really bad winter days lately, 22F below and snow. That means lots of idling and medium/heavy traffic with 3 adults in the car

Two highway/small road trips in the mountains with 3 adults in the car, average speed 50mpg were giving around 22.4mpg. Purely highway would of likely been in the 25-28mpg range if I would of kept it on cruise the whole way.

That does not sound any better than my R51. I thought part of the reason for redesign was to improve fuel effciency?

22.5 mpg - 50/50 hwy/city. 2000 miles on the odo.

With my wife short hopping a couple of miles to work in bitter cold, around 18. With me commuting 28 miles, most if it on freeway at 65, a whopping 27. That's pretty impressive! Everything else in between those extremes.

60% highway we are averaging 24.5mpg

As a follow up I am only getting 15.6mpg out of the current tank with 100% city.

Sounds about similar to my Maxima, makes sense, VQ35.

Well, we are averaging about 22 since getting the Pathfinder 1600 miles ago. I did calculate our mileage over the weekend driving 165 miles, almost all highway, back from the mountains and we got 28.4 mpg on that 165 mile trip. My observation is it gets a little less that 19 mpg in the city and way better than 25 mpg on the highway, unless you drive like an idiot. This is the 4x4 SL model mind you.

That is an improvement. I average 10mpg in NYC metro area traffic city driving and about 19-20mpg highway.

Consumer Reports is showing a combined 18 mpg for the new Pathy. I get 17.5 mpg on my 2006 LE AWD, combined. Looks like the big advantage for the R52 is on long, highway runs. My R51 gets 20-21.5 mpg on the long, highway run. Seems the R52's are getting from 22 up to 27 mpg on the long runs.

Consumer Reports is crazy. In order to get a combined 18 you would have to have 90% City 10% Highway. I am getting overall since buying our Path between 21 and 22 mpg and that is over 1700 miles. I would have to say the 1700 are split almost 50-50 between City and Highway.

If that were the case I would expect much better than 18. More like the opposite. If they got 18 and it wasn't 90% city, then they must be going 85-90 on the highway!

only about 500 miles, but I'm averaging around 18.5 with about 95% city.

21-22 is pretty normal in our 2014 Platinum loaded with everything. 13K on it so far.
I can make a 50 mile run and get over 31, but that is sliding it up into neutral and coasting down the hills while my wife digs her fingers into the seat and screams -
