Anyone ever rebuild their fuel pump? I have a 91 pathfinder, it sat for about 5 years before I picked it up (free) the fuel pump is dead. I'm going to attempt to rebuild it today. Pics will follow (maybe).

I would just get a new Nissan pump and be done with it. It's over 20 years old...it's time!

Well I was unsuccessful on the rebuild. I couldn't get it apart without breaking it. I was able to, however, get it working again. When tested on 12v it jumped but didn't spin. After flooding it with carburetor cleaner and blowing 100psi air in from the bottom, it now spins like a champ.

Personally, I would still replace it. Sometimes the motor will develop bad spots on it and it will start working once the pump is jolted. If this is the case, you make be looking at it failing, again, and it may not be the most convenient time or place to do so when it does. While Nissan fuel pumps aren't cheap, for me it's cheap insurance compared to taking a chance on a pump that has already failed once.

yep it failed again, luckily it was right in its spot at my house while I was letting it warm up. Very convenient I must say. Replaced with a new one yesterday and it should all be fine though. Got me through a few months though, but its not my daily driver so I had time to play around with it.
