Occasionally hangs in first gear.

Hey guys I'm new to the forum and about to get an original owner 1994 pathfinder with 217000 miles on it. One issue they said it had is if you really get down on it it won't shift out of first but if you ease into it it shifts fine which it does because when I drove it it was fine. Any ideas what it could be. Thanks.
