The Nissan Path

I can't find anything that looks like a "check engine light" on my 92 Pathfinder 4x4 5-speed (XE-V6). I found a link online that says it should be just above the gas gauge in the center of the instrument cluster, but the light there is the "running out of gas" light on my Pathfinder.

Anyone out there with my make/model/year who can give me an authoritative answer?

If I'm not mistaken, the only WD21 Pathfinders that had CEL's are those with California emissions certification...and that may have only been the last couple of years.
