89 pathy looking for more power

Well, Ive completly rebuilt my pathy, and OMG im in love with it, went from a 600.00 salvage, to a pathy with new engine, interior, and paint(have been offered 5000.00 for it, but she's my baby and sweat). Now the thing im looking for is to up her power, and at a complete loss.
I'm currently looking at a couple of options
1st i found a machine shop that makes an intake manifold for the vg30i, and will allow for a 500cfm holly carb, anyone done this? feedback?(this would also allow me to put a nos system in, but not sure i want to do that)
2nd Looking at putting and mfd ignition system with coil, but not sure how well this will benifit me. any idea?
It runs strong and but doesnt have the "umph" I would really want. Ive read that the series of engine have been modified to push up to 500hp and greater in really tricked out mods, but for the life of me i cant find any other information on how to accomplish this. As a note I used high performance parts for the rebuild, also I dont mind pulling motor again, or droping an alt motor that will match up, but from all ive read and after machining im already at 3.3 ltrs
thanks
scara
also if you have questions about rebuilding one of these beasts i can give you some good info, IE it was a definate learning experience.
