injectors spraying up

engine won't start crank...crank...crank....smell of gas climbing out..i pop the hood and more gas smell..pop the cover on the air filter entire cover wet with gas......eyeballed the injectors ..wasn't going near them.traced the cable from the back of the couling to the boot plug just over the oil cap..removed the boot and found oil inside the plugs must of dripped some down the wire and in it went....blew out contact cleaner reinstalled and away she went.saw also that the air cleaner cover had rust on it and saw moisture there once also if the truck is 86.5 first issue parked a certain angle water can drip in and get this up/top sparying
