1993 Pathfinder engine help

I just took my manual '93 pathfinder SE on a trip for a few days, and about 300 miles into my trip my car started acting weird. When I started my car the engine would idle at about 1800rpms, then randomly drop to 700rpms. Even when I pressed the clutch in it would still idle really high or low. Also when I get up in the morning to warm up my car it makes a weird clicking noise for about 3 seconds after it is started. I will appreciate any help I can get. Thanks
