headlight restore, replace, HID?

My search mojo is probably bad, but couldn't find anything with a search. I've got a 1991 Pathfinder with pitted headlight lens. I think I would like to do an HID conversion, but want a clearer lens in any case. What are my options? Can the lens be buffed? Where would I look for a replacement headlight assembly? Thanks for any advice
