R50 < 99 and R50 > 99 differences.

I have 98 Pathy and I want to install some skid plates underneath, but I can find only 99+ accessoires on sale in my area. I'm pretty sure, that 99+ skid plates will fit on my 98 model, but maybe anyone know for sure?
