1996 pathfinder clucth install

hi we just bought a 1996 pathfinder and was wondering if u have any tips on intalling a clutch. we got a good deal just needs the clucth and my hubby is installing it. we bought the clucth from amazon for 100.00 dollars :D thank you

It's pretty heavy with the transfer case, so make sure he has a good jack and working surface to work on if he doesn't have access to a lift. I prefer using genuine Nissan clutch kits...or at least a reputable aftermarket brand like Valeo or Exedy. Make sure he replaces the clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing and pilot bushing. With the trans out, it's a good time time to replace the rear main seal, which are a common leak on VG engines. I also smear a bead of RTV sealant along the oil pan rear lip seal, which is also a common area for oil leaks (clean the area first with brake cleaner and dry thoroughly).
