The Nissan Path

Hey everyone. I have a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder that the girlfriend is driving so I'm trying to get things straightened out with the car and in working order. Does anyone know of any common issues with the cigarette lighters in the car? We've tried to use it to charge our phones but it isn't getting any power to it. I checked the fuse and it looks fine. Anyone have any thoughts on what it could be or if I may just need to put a new cigatette lighter assembly in? Thanks for in advance for any help.

Most of the time it's ashes or debris inside the socket, but you can use a 12 volt test light to see if there's power to it.
