2003 Pathfinder - new owner. Have P1130 code

Greetings all. I'm new to the forum and just bought my first Pathfinder - 2003 LE 4x4 with 128k miles. It runs great except if I push the gas pedal down more than about 1/3 of the way then it starts bucking.

Check engine light revealed P1130 - Swirl Control Valve Solenoid. So I got that part from the dealership and swapped it out last night, cleared the code and it ran great. I was able to mash the pedal all the way and no bucking.

This morning the issue is back and check engine light is on. I will pull the code after work but I suspect it'll be the same P1130. Also I changed the vacuum lines but its possible I missed one.

Also worth noting, I can put it in 2nd gear and drive the RPMs all the way up with no problem. The issue is when I mash the gas pedal down more than 1/3rd of the way. Could this be the Throttle Position Sensor?

Any ideas? Thanks.

I would recheck the codes and make sure you got the same code. If so, follow the diagnostic procedure for that code in the factory service manual. It's the only "correct" way to go about diagnosing the problem and keep from guessing and throwing parts at it. Nico Club's website has downloadable service manuals.

I took it to my local shop. Turned out to be the black vacuum box that the swirl control valve plugs into. Replaced that and now its running like a champ!
