The Nissan Path

I have a 2001 pathfinder and am currently experiencing a problem with the lock on the hatch. For starters sometimes the hatch does not latch all the way. The only way I can get the hatch to lock is by opening the upper glass part on the hatch. My fob does not work so all locking is done through key or buttons inside car.

So I have narrowed it down to either the actuator or the plug going into the actuator. The actuator will unlock but will not lock. Does anyone know if this is a problem with the actuator or the plug. I would try to test to see if it is a problem with the actuator or the plug but there are 4 prongs so not sure how to do it.
