Well it's time for some tires for the ole pathfinder, and I obviously would like to up the tire size(if possible). I've looked on many forums and some people say 31-10.5-16 tires fit fine with no trimming and others say they just won't fit. Does anyone know what the largest size I can get without trimming? If be fine to take off the mud flaps if needed

The big issue for clearance is the strut. You're safe at 30". There have been a few that have put 31x10.5 (265/75) and had them work, but there was a hair's worth of clearance between the tire and strut.

31.5 x 10.5 translates to roughly a 265/70/16 which is a common metric tire size. I think you would have clearance issues with the strut, though a spacer or wheels with less offset might help, too.

If you look at my thread, you can see I just put 245/75/16's on my stock wheels and they fit nicely. That's a 30.5 x 9.5 x 16 tire and it fills the wheel wells nicely. I don't think I'd want to go much bigger than that.

Stock tire width (on the SE at least) is 255 so I wouldn't go with anything wider than that.

Would there be any sort of rubbing while turning with either of those sizes?

How far do your tires stick out? I would like to get my tires flush with my fenders for width. Hoping to achieve that without spacers, but if it's not possible with new tires alone I may have to

I had 31s before the lift. There were no clearance issues with the struts but there was rubbing behind the wheel on a tight turn. 1" wheel spacers took care of that.

Have a look here : http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/ ... oe-wheels/

It's a post that I started long time ago exactly for that kind of question...

I've been running 31x10.50s for awhile now with no issues on my 98.

I would really like to know this topic too. I would like some 265/70/17 on my 2004 pathfinder. Can't do the 2.5 inch lift at the moment. But ole girl needs some new rubber, bad.
