The Nissan Path

Has anyone recently get new catalytic converter on their pathfinder? I'm wondering how much it cost(dealer/local mechanic). I'm due for an inspection and I got the 'check engine soon' light on. The local mechanic said i have like 7 other problems. So, I'm going to bite the bullet and go to a dealer, but I want to know what I'm looking at before I enter the lion's den. i've heard a lot about the 8/80k rule. it doesn't apply to me cause i got 230k on my baby. still going strong!!! thanks a bunch!

i dont know if you fixed your problem already.. but it seems like the pathfinder have issues on this cat, i replaced mine last yr and now im having the p0420 code again.
stealership will charge you bigtime on catalytic converter, even local shop cause stealership charge too much for the cat itself..

i was quoted 1200 for one side.. thats local, and the stealership is almost the same. i dont know what yr is yours but i replaced mine last yr i bought it through ebay, i live in cali and we got the worst emission standards ever.. but it passed with no problem..
