Considering buying a 97.....help?

Hello I joined this forum because I am seriously considering buying a 97 pathfinder se
Its $2900 i think i can get it lower and it has 129,000 miles
Owner said he just put a new muffler on have not driven yet but its on the list for this weekend
I was just wondering if that seemed like a good deal and what i should look for when i go drive it.
Any help would be appreciated
