this might be a really stupid question, and the manual isnt car specific, but is there any visual indicator if i have the bose system or not?

I have an 03 SE with the 6 disc changer (dunno if this is a standard option or not) it dosent say "Bose" on the speaker grille like my audi did, or on the head unit, but im not sure if it would...

im looking to upgrade the whole crappy sound system and crutchfield ask's wether it's the "bose package" or not

i would guess its not.

if it was Bose, they'd splash the Bose logo everywhere on the speakers, dashboard, hell even the spare tyre maybe.

I also am unsure of whether I have the bose system or not. I have seen it on the speaker grille's as well in other vehicles. I have 02 LE so I feel like I have to have it since it's the LE model. But there is not indication of it on the speakers. But I do have a cassette player in mine, and on the "door" for the cassette player, it says bose. But I don't know if that just means that the player is from bose. Because other cars will say that it's Dolby on their cassette players, but I don't think that means anything other than the player is that brand. So I'm clueless to how to find out.

Another way to see if you have BOSE (if you have an aftermarket deck), is in the back left corner, look thru the slotted vent and you'll see the BOSE amp (small black box). Or at least that's where mine is at. I have an 04 LE Platinum.
