hey I'm trying to figure out if my car has a limited slip differential.
its a 97 pathfinder SE.
From what I've read it was an option for that year but I'm having a hard time figuring out if it actually has one or not.

actually I just looked at my rear differential and it said LSD oil only so I guess I have my answer. In the owners manual it says to use 80w-90 but it seems like its saying to use that for a regular differential and it just says to use GL-5 for a LSD.
Should Just use 80w-90 with some LSD additive?
Also I have some 75w-90 sitting in my garage that I need to use would this be ok to use?
*** EDIT ***
Also I just located my front differential. There is nothing indicating that this is a Limited slip differential. Can someone verify this for me ????
Thanks for any and all help.

You should used GL-5 80W90 that is "approved for use in limited slip differentials." It will say so on the bottle. Nissan used to use Pennzoil for their warranty work. Front diff is an open type carrier.

so if my front differntial is an open type carrier then why should I use limited slip fluid in it?
