Keyless programming not working

Hi all
Firstly let me declare I'm a newbie
I have a 2000 Pathfinder that I bought 3mth ago, unfortunately it didn't come with the keyless fob so I bought a couple of online ones. After going through every model # of remotes that relate to my pathfinder still no joy. Every time I go through the program procedure I get to the two flash thing with the flashers and then nothing..it's getting annoying
My last resort is to go to a dealer but I don't want to mortgage the house just yet...I've just found out the Path has a Crime Alert CA4000 security system upgrade any ideas please
