Eh, I guess it's possible but highly unlikely. Those are the end links, they are very light weight and not under any real pressure. Looks like your cover or seal has deteriorated which could cause a squeak but nothing much more than that. I would replace it, I think they are $12ea and would take 5-10 mins a side.

Start with that, they need it anyway.

Oh, likely your noise on small bumps on rough road is body bushings. Seriously these things drove me nuts til I replaced them. There is a good thread on here about them. Start with the very front, they will be worn the most considering they are the furthest point from the center of the vehicle (end of a moving arm) and under the most stress.

It's an R50, not an R51. He doesn't have body mount bushings; it's unibody.

I had a 1992 4Runner with sloppy swaybar end links... Had a similar clunk/clicking noise... Replaced them and the front end was silent! :D

I replaced the 2 front sway bar link and the 2 front sway bar bushings. For the moment I thought I solve the problem but the noise is still there.
Please help... any Idea where I might come from. I checked the Lower Control Arm but the bushings are intact. The Ball joints seem ok.

Check your upper strut mount, at the center of the strut tower... I've seen them back off even with the nylock nut.
