I just had a sensor ABS brake left ft wheel replaced ,$262.00 - then my mechanic says its showing the left side is bad , so the ABS light is always on because it has a bad wheel speed sensor and then half way home the 4 wheel light comes on after an hour of driving or sometimes never comes on but it does eventually come on and locks out my 4 wheel drive selection switch until the 4 wheel light goes out , the manual says there's nothing serious unless the 4 wheel light starts flashing so I'm safe there , how ever the mechanic said its safe to drive -just get the ABS sensor replaced before winter , will it harm anything to ride with the ABS light on and the 4 wheel light comes on some times .

It won't hurt anything, but your ABS system is disabled when the ABS warning light is illuminated.
