Promoting new members... Ideas?

I have a couple of ideas to promote membership here. No amazing, unique ideas, just some thoughts.

First idea is for Carl. Not that you are busy enuff, right?

Seems like alot of the members hav never even posted on a topic. Can you email, or pm, the current members and encourage them to get involved?

Second, I thought about making flyers or cards to give to people drivin' around in P-finders. Since this is Carl's website, I want to basically ask permission on the 2nd one.

Some good ideas Scott, I think any help developing the forum will give a payback. I've passed this TNP url along to a couple of local Nissan techs in this area hoping to see more mechanical input. I don't think many of PF drivers or general Nissan gearheads from other forums know of this site as yet, but there are ways to fix that. :)

1: Yeah, way too busy and labor intensive =P

2: Sure, sounds great. What I'd suggest is we design a business card that any of us can order a small batch from some place online and then tag people's trucks.

Also, we've started getting a large influx of new users over the last couple weeks because of some SEO work I've done to the forum. This has taken us from way way down in the depths of Google searches to almost into the 2nd page of results for "Nissan Pathfinder Forum". Over on Yahoo we're the 7th listing on the first page which is simply fantastic.

The biggest thing that will help our page rankings going forward is links to this forum from other relevant sites.

if someone can create a logo and make it into a sticker that can be placed on PF window that would be great way to spead the work out for this forum.
I would put one on.

vinyl decal for the exterior of the car?
i'm down for that idea too.
I walk my dogs and counted 3 other 05-08 pathfinders within 4 blocks of my house. If people take notice.... chances are they will pay a visit to the site.

I don't put stickers on my vehicles. However, I could be up for one of those self-clinging window/glass stickers. Better yet, a nice metal license plate frame with this site printed on it.

In the area of city where I live I see 05+ PF's all the time, mostly driven by younger families who would be doing work with computers. A single printed page slipped under the windshield wiper arm giving the TNP url and a brief description about this information resource should help bring a few new posters in.

A clear window sticker reading 'thenissanpath.com' done up in a Nismo style black/red or white/red sequence would look good imo.

Hi, here is the logo of the french speaking PF website :

We thought that the grill was the most representative part of the car.
If it can inspire you

I like the actual look and feel of the forum and I prefer the small picture than a too big B&W logo...

I've seen many forum using visiting cards to promote themselves.

I like this one for exemple :
