Front and Rear Diff Capacity

Question for anyone that has done a transfer case change and has the AUTO xfer case -- how much fluid were you able to get back in the t-case?

The owners manual says capacity is 3 1/8 qts but I was only able to pump in about 2 7/8 before it started running out of the fill hole pretty steady. I let it drain for about 20 minutes on level ground hoping to get all of the residual oil out.
