Anybody purchase an extended warranty for their Pathfinder?
Getting near the mileage point, wanted to know what dealers are charging out there.

I just bought my 2005 Pathfinder, used. To get a "Wrap" policy to 100,000 miles or 84 months from service date, was $1000.
I have also heard that some of the aftermarket warranties (i.e. WarrantyDirect.com) are pretty affordable.
I know that I will either trade-in or get an aftermarket warranty at the end of mine. I just had a fuel level sensor die ($400 job) and rattling timing chain tensioner (6 hours of labor + parts), which were both covered by warranty. My sentra's engine blew up at 80K, covered by warranty.
So, from where I stand, warranties are worth it.

It's like health insurance. If you have it and need it, you'd be really happy you decided to have it. If you don't have it and need it, it's going to costs quite a bit depending upon what it might be.
It's a Nissan, so chances of some major components go wrong would be low like other Japanese auto makers, but no one can still guarantee that nothing will happen to your vehicle.
If you can afford to buy ext. warranty, and you're worried that something could mechanically happen to your vehicle after 3yr/36k miles, then go for it.

Stay clear of Heritage!
I agree extended warranties provide great peace of mind, and - as others have affirmed - can save lots of money.
That said, one company to stay away from is Heritage. Seems they may not even exist. There is no way of contacting them directly, and their record of handling claims is atrocious.
A class action suit may be in the works, for what it's worth.

Thanks all for the input 
I have a few more miles to go, but it looks like I will be shopping different Nissan dealers for the warranty -- I know it may be more expensive, but it is direct from Nissan, so I have that "piece of mind".
One thing I have found is that some warranties are only good at the dealer you purchase them from, so I'll have to watch for that.
