Issues with my 94

Postby Chuckwick357 » Wed Sep 15, 2010 9:16 pm

Hi all,
New to the sight just picked up my second Pathfinder 1994 wit 169 in the clock the first was a 1988 2D love that truck wish I could find on with a good body on it.

Anyway my issue: I have looked and searched a cant find an answer.
The problem occurs whenever I reach ~2000 RPM the truck begins to hesitate and jerk. I can't reach anything much higher than 3000 rpm. (although not sure as the tachometer bounces wildly). When the car is cold I don't have the problem. But as the car warms up after a few miles of driving, the RPMs at which I am able to run the car successful (without hesitation and jerking) decreases until it reaches about 2000 which then becomes the threshold.

So far new Fuel filter, Wires, plugs, Cap and button.

Any ideas

Thank
Chuck.

probably a long shot but something similar happened to me, it was the air intake boot (rubber piece between the MAF and engine intake) was split on the bottom right next to engine intake - very hard to see without knowing to actually look there. I was sucking tons of air in the intake and the MAF didn't know. So check that for any leaks, rips, splits it's easy and worth a try

had the same problem. It's like the longer it runs the harder it is to get it to run right. I let it sit a few hours and it starts right back up. It's stressful. Now it won't even start?
