Here's another aluminum skid plate option for the 05+ PF; a full set costs around $800;

Don't know how much may have changed Jim, I saw a guy from Rasta offering some fairly good discounts elsewhere so invited him to post the same here.

They certainly look like nice skids. My only problem is the lack of product info, both customer & corporate. I'm also pretty hesitant with them simply because they don't post prices, which is ridiculous in this day and age. I mean they aren't providing a service that has to be planned out and priced, but simply parts.

I'd still like to see someone on this forum order & install either of the aluminum skid plate options. It would be great to get some real world feedback.

The water tanks they have for the Land Cruisers and FJ's are pretty cool. I'd never use it but it be neat to see a version for the Pathy.

FYI
These are exactly the same ones sold at 4x4parts.com.
I contacted Rasta4x4 and then got a reply back from Automotive Customizers with a quote.

Here's a real world install.

And more info from the FJ owners.

If Rasta would offer a group buy, I might just bite. Anyone else?

Now that's an accessory I'd buy for the Pathfinder. And the water tank kit sounds interesting, too!

I dont' know. She's in the middle of nowhere, yet she's wearing a bikini. A bit too prude for my tastes.

I think 4x4parts.com sell those skids.

I seen a few European Navara guys running those skid.

They do. After reading about 30 different pages from different forums, it seems like it might be a good product if you don't plan on being a hardcore rock crawler. For those of us who know our limits when faced with obstacles, I think they'd be absolutely perfect. A few of the negatives mentioned on the FJ forums made sense:

1. The front air scoop defeats the purpose of a having a skid, as it can hang/catch on rocks, and also scoop in mud, sand, etc.

2. If a side of one of the skids only has mounting points in the corners, it seems they can get bent to hell much easier than steel, at least according to the couple of people who have truly bent them.
I seen a few European Navara guys running those skid.
I also stumbled across a Toyota RAV forum discussing them. The fact that it was a RAV forum talking about skids was highly amusing. If I had a RAV, the skids would be way on the bottom of my list of 4x4 mods to make.

I too thought that was an odd. I wasn't 100% sure what it even was, but thought it couldn't be beneficial regardless of what it's purpose was.
