Axxess steering control problem

Hi Guys, all the way from chilly New Zealand!

I recently bought a 2007 pathfinder and promptly installed a Sony double din bluetooth Stereo unit, around the same time I bought a Axxess steering control unit off ebay so I could retain the steering control buttons. Install sounded like a breeze. At the Axxess website instructions are downloaded and wiring is explained, easy. BUT the plug shown in their diagram doesn't match the plug I have got in the vehicle, theirs shows a 16 pin and mine is 14, they don't explain what colour wires to connect the axxess unit into just the pin numbers. Has anyone had experience with this axxess unit?

Took it to my auto sparky, he also struggled with the instruction?? Only thing I thought of maybe is that the model R51 we have in NZ maybe different to the USA models, I think ours are made in the spanish plant.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
