Brake proportioning shouldn't be an issue. The V6 and V8 Pathfinders both use the same rear brakes (and obviously the body is the same) and while there are several master cylinder part numbers, I did find the same master cylinder part number used on both a V6 and V8 Pathfinder. I also haven't heard any issues from anyone that's done it.

As for me, I just finished ordering the rest of the parts for my 2006 LE AWD. I went the "performance" route rather than the low cost route. The cost of everything to do the front and rear brakes, with hoses, DOT 5.1 fluid, etc. and shipping/tax costs came out to around $1030 with some bargain hunting. Also, the prices don't include core charges as they will be returned. Here's the list:

Rockauto:

Power Stop S2870B front caliper set w/ brackets $176
Power Stop S2994A rear caliper set w/ brackets $78
Wagner Severe Duty DOT 5.1 brake fluid (12 oz./3-bottles) $31
Dorman HW1457 brake hose clips (optional) $1.20
Shipping costs: $32

Autohance.com:

Goodridge 21114 SS brake hose set $108
(Note: if you need hoses for a 2" lift, it's 2-21114 and for a 4" lift, it's 4-21114)

THMotorsports:

EBC GD7493 front rotor set (slotted & dimpled "sport rotors") $281

EBAY:

EBC GD7403 rear rotor set (slotted & dimpled "sport rotors") $165
EBC DP41671R "Yellow Stuff" front pad set $80
EBC DP41748R "Yellow Stuff" rear pad set $78

Very nice!

In theory, proportioning should not be an issue because increasing the front braking power decreases even further the likelihood of the rear tires locking up before the front. For anyone who doesn't know, all cars are designed from the factory to lock the front wheels first - if the rear lock first then the back end of the vehicle will whip around. Of course, modern ABS will prevent full lock up anyway so it't a moot point unless the ABS is down.
Increasing the rear braking power is when proportioning could be a concern.

In practice, proportioning is definitely not an issue. I've stomped it several times hard enough where the front tires have chirped, but the rear did not.

Looking forward to pictures!

Conversion is done. I made mistakes.

The Good:
I can now stop a tow truck.

The Bad: I SOMEHOW got my Left and Right calipers reversed. I didn't know that was possible, but I did.
I also could not bleed them to save my life.
Lastly, I misunderstood what these were, and I had ordered pads for a Titan.

The Story:
After bleeding with a buddy of mine for a half hour, I gave up. I waited until it was a little later and brake-pumped my way home.
I took it to the only technician that will touch my Nissans, had him diagnose it, fix it, bleed it, throw on new rear rotors and the pads I had ordered (I had a rust lip on the rear rotors), and send me on my way.

The Suggestion:
Get the motive auto-pump brake bleed kit thing. Once you get bubbles in the ALBS block, you are in for a long time.

The other Suggestion:
Everyone should do this.

Bleeders should always be on the top side of the caliper, otherwise bleeding the brakes can give you problems. I usually use my vacuum bleeder and make sure to not run the reservoir out of fluid. If I do two passes of "RR/FL/LR/RF," it's usually good.

So if you poke around on here you'll also find out that the V8 calipers came as stock brakes on the 370Z back in the day so the pad choices that are available out there are endless.
Reviving an older post…

Do you think the (Power Stop S6232)

Interesting...

Not sure if the bolt pattern fits, and clearances for the rims.

Makes me nervous putting aluminum where steel is designed in a brake application.
But the QX70 is as heavy as the Pathfinder...so...

Even if the bolts fit, I think it comes to the wheel offset?
Looking at the Z and the Qx - they have much larger positive offset (40-45 vs 30) that allow that to fit in there.

Hard to say unless you get the specs on both calipers (bolts/patterns) or just order one and see if it fits.

As far as I know, the 370z calipers won't work. You need some sort of adapter iirc. There was a guy on the Xterra or Frontier forum that made some sets, but don't think many people jumped on it so he stopped making them. I've been eyeing the Z1 offroad brake upgrade which seems to be what the gentleman on the Xterra or Frontier forum made, but haven't inquired if those are 4 pot or 2 pot calipers that's in their kit. I hope those are 4 pot calipers because the 2 pots aren't cutting it on 37s.

I just did this mod and am now very happy with the results. Straight forward simple swap as if they were made for the vehicle. I would recommend it to anyone with a Pathfinder.

is probably going to happen when my current brakes wear out. would you mind sharing what parts you used?
