PRG lift installed.

Postby TheYuPath » Fri Jun 12, 2009 9:29 pm

I installed the prg spacer lift, camber seems off. Went to get an alignment and they told me I needed to buy a camber kit. Did any of you who lifted your path need to get a camber kit?

Will post pictures in a little while.

I have the same lift, and the alignment went smoothly, no problems at all. no camber kit needed.

I'll take the path to another alignment shop and see what they say. Needing an alignment, cause I can see the new tires starting to feather.

not sure if this is your problem, but some of the OME suspension guys have problems with alignments, due to seizing of the bolts on the lower links... you may need to get some replacement components:

Copied this from another thread...

For those of you unable to get your alignments up to spec especially in the rear; It could be your cam bolts have frozen to your bushing sleeves in the rear lower links. Thats the situation I ran into and finally after 2k and lots of waiting I can finally breathe a sign of relief.
solution you'll need the following (I got mine from Courtesy parts so their prices are listed):
part number:
08918-6441A Nut $.99 x 2
54559-1Z600 Disc Eccentric $3.81 x 2
551B0-EA500 Rear Lower link complete $30.92 x 2
55226-7S001 Pin-Arm $8.61 x 2

the 06 and up models don't come from the factory with the cam adj on the a-arms. thus the reason you need a kit where people with 05 models don't. Hope that helps.

PRG lift kit

Postby pathfound » Fri Jun 26, 2009 11:13 am

Hi,

I am wondering if you purchased the coil over springs/rear spacers setup OR the Pathfinder mini kit PRG lists on their website?

Which tires are you going for or have installed after the lift is installed? 285 R70 17s?

I have a 2005 and have been planning to buy the PRG lift for months...just now getting round to it.

I'm also wondering if there are any computer/braking/distance/speedometer issues by putting larger tires on the vehicle. Anyone know? I'm guessing that if so, it's nominal.

Thanks!

:)

foytix, that's good to know. Thanks for that tip. I've got a '05 and never heard there'd be probs.

Haven't ordered a camber kit yet. But I need to soon, cause I can already see the new muds wearing on the outside of the tires. Had to trim some plastic to fit my Cooper Discover STT 285/70/17, now that the vehicle has settled some, noticing more rubbing again when turning.
And another issue is when cornering or getting on the on ramp, or enough weight to the corners of the front end kicks the vdc. I need to get onto thenewx.org and find the solution for the vdc modification switch.

Your cooper tires

Postby pathfound » Sun Jun 28, 2009 12:41 am

Hi!

The pathfinder looks GReAT!

Was that picture of "AFTER" with the new Cooper tires ON or not yet on?

LOOKS GREAT!!

What would you say the lift gave your vehicle all inclusive-- including tires in height? 3 "?

I had COOPER tires before...they are noisy...but you can live with that when you find they last such a very long time...

Picture after is after coopers were on. I have a picture of after lift and before coopers, the stock tires looked tiny. I will post that pick later. Yea noise doesnt bother me. Does anyone have issues with the VDC slip kicking on in turns or when cornering?
