Replacing keyless entry FOB

Postby Zapp_Brannigan » Sat Jul 11, 2009 7:30 pm

This is my first time posting so I'd like to say Hi! Anyway I have a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder and all the original key FOBs have been crushed to death from family members thinking that the harder you push the more battery life you can get. My question is do I need to purchase original factory Key FOBs that were specifically designed for the vehicle or can I just use an aftermarket one instead? I know how to program it once I have one I just don't know if I buy a cheap FOB online if it will work with the car. So does anyone know if this is Ok?

Thanks in Advance!

P.S. I was thinking of a shiny one like this

You can also try finding a aftermarket remote that is specifically made for your Pathfinder year, make and model. They have to have the same code. If not the remotes will not program
