Diff Lockers

Postby bender031 » Tue Jan 30, 2007 12:38 pm

Another post mentioned that ARB has air lockers available for the new pathys. I wanted to start a thread to try to get some more info on this.

Anyone have any information, links, or pricing about lockers?

What does everyone think of the rear independent suspension in regards to installing a locker, think it will hold up?

Does anyone know exactly what rear axle we have? spline count, etc...?

Yes, I have called ARB USA in seattle and pointed that there is a rear locker available. Here is the info from ARB USA:

"After reviewing our application guide for air lockers I see that we do not have an air locker for the front axle. We only offer, for the front, the R200A applications.
For the rear, the model should be C200 31 spline (RD106) or 29 spline (RD107). You need to check the spline count to determine the correct application."

I asked around my local shops and they say pricing around $700 for the locker, $250 for the compressor, and around $500 to install. Also, from previous posters, we do have the 31 spline count (RD106). As far as I'm concern, IRS should be ok as long as you don't go hog wild out there.

Let me know what you decide, and if you will be the first to try it out.

Is that for the ARB branded all-in-one mini-compressor/tank deal?

Not sure, it's just some numbers the cat was throwing out of the top of his head as he was qouting me. Local shop here in San Diego.

Ah, ok. I had never looked into the components required for an ARB locker until today and was just wondering. The MSRP on the ARB branded all in one is something like $215 but I know you can get a Viair compressor and small 1gal tank and all the setup for less than $250 if going non-arb.
