I was looking for a thread for upgrading the factory radio in a Pathfinder S. I could not find one so I figured I would start one..
Here is the existing Factory radio..

First thing I did was pick out my radio, I picked out the JVC KW-XR610 at SonicElectronics. Link Below:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_220 ... XR610.html
If your lucky, you might find one in the clearance(refurb) section for less($129), also they list the XR810 at $139 but none in stock.
They will try to give you the Nissan car stereo connector NN03B and antenna adapter NDAB. If you are over 2007, These do NOT work..
I have a 2008, I needed the Metra 70-7552
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_106 ... -7552.html
And the antenna adapter the Metra 40-NI12 Keep in mind this has a blue wire that needs to connect to your power antenna output..

Once you get your radio, take out the supplied connector from the radio and match it up to your Nissan adapter. Pinouts are pretty much color matched except for the antenna power and the dimmer wire..
Radio harness------------------------ Nissan Adapter cable
Yellow -------------------------------- Yellow Power(constant)
Red------------------------------------- Red Power(switched)
Blue/white---------------------------- Blue/white power antenna amp**
Orange/White------------------------ Orange/White Dimmer(Illumination)
Black---------------------------------- Black Chassis Ground
White---------------------------------- White LF Positive
White/Black-------------------------- White/Black LF Neg.
Gray----------------------------------- Grey RF Positive
Gray/Black--------------------------- Gray/Black RF Neg.
Green---------------------------------- Green LR Positive
Green/Black-------------------------- Green/Black LR Neg.
Violet---------------------------------- Violet RR Positive
Violet/Black-------------------------- Violet/Black RR Neg.
**Just to be safe that you have power to your antenna amp, also connect the blue wire on your antenna adapter to the radio power antenna output.
Once you are ready to remove the radio, you should take a look at the video on Youtube on how to remove it.. It is quite helpful.

If you have a Harbor Freight near you, purchase the plastic pry bar kit below

Once you remove your old radio and disconnect it. You will need to do a minor modification to the brackets so they will fit the new radio. You will need to elongate the holes so that the bracket fits, also to make it fit real clean, you should grind off the metal nipples on the inside of the brackets..
Assemble and install… If you are having problems with the radio try pressing the reset button with a paper clip. I was unable to select any FM stations until I did this…
