Postby SKIPJACK » Tue Oct 30, 2007 1:57 pm

When im backing up or driving forward (between 0-20 mph) the car makes a squeeky noise that sounds awful...it stops once im going faster or if i hit the breaks. does anyone know what this comes from or how to make it stop.

Possibly the dust shield is rubbing on the brake rotor. Bend the dust shield.

Did you recently get new pads and/or rotors? It sounds like the break-in squeak. If not, something is either bent or you have a rock caught between the shield and the rotor.

Sounds just like brake wear indicators ... take a look at your brakes, it may be time to replace ...

I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like it's time to replace the pads.
