Weight of OEM Wheels

Postby silverarrow27 » Tue Jun 02, 2020 4:33 pm

I've been searching and searching and not one thing has ever been mentioned about the weight of our factory wheels. Anyone weighed their oem rims without tires before? I'm looking into moving down to some 17" aftermarket wheels for better MT tire selection, but would like to make sure I'm "upgrading" and not downgrading.

I ended up buying a set of Maxxis RAZR MT 772s in 275/70/18 which comes out to 33.2x10.8R18 vs the stock tire size 265/60/18 - 30.5x10.4R18. Going with tall and "skinny" instead of tall and wide. Hopefully it'll clear the fender lining and no modifications needed to anything else since it appears no one has tried this size before from researching on here.

Couldn't find anything I like in 17s since most tires recommended to be mounted on a rim 8+ inches. I'm going to take my time to find a set of 17" wheels that will have a face that will clear the stock calipers as it appears some people have ran into the new wheels not clearing the calipers and/or they had to install spacers probably due to the face design. And looking at the stock face, the V8 LE's need a concaved face, not a flat one, to clear the calipers.
