Where are you from? I lived in the EU for 30 years and have never really been hassled about tire size if I went over or under sized. I got certified easily with just common dimensional charts.

Wow. Just. Wow. I can't believe how much of an idiot I was. I spent a good 10 minutes figuring out why it's was such an odd looking defroster circuit.

Mine had issues, had it bypassed, flushed, and the works. And eventually the shudder came back. Trans was replaced, thankfully partially covered under warranty.

Friend of mine had an xterra, same issue. But problems never came back after several flushes.

About the problems with the tape: Use a couple of layers of tape, on top of each other. That gives you a harder line. Also go easy on the overspray, and try to feather the first coats on the tape so it stays thin. Only do the last coat pretty hard on your tape line, and pull the tape off while the p...
