On a VERY frustrating trip to Panamoto, the Nissan dealerships here. (other post to follow on that), you can get the flexible type mud flap/guard here, but it's $68 a location! It's over $270!! The best bet I think is the fits-all type flat plastic/urethane type and just use the existing ones for a ...

Scan tool recomendations for Nissans?

I'm looking for a scan tool that will allow me to reset the ol check engine/service soon lights (and of course read codes). Primary is for the Pathy, but it'd be nice to use on my Mazda and Chev P/U too. Anyone use a scan tool that work off the PC via USB? I found the following, but I haven't found ...

Thanks guys, that helps. I had some trail fun today, never had to hit 4x4. Just popped off the VDC and powered through the mud. Man, my current ATs stink in gooey mud! Here's some fun pics... try to guess where ;) Here's where I got to, all dirt/mud/jungle trails to the top of the hill, and not via ...

Tire question again...

For some of the beach and trails here, I think it's time to go to a mud tire and not an AT type. (Although, if I can find the BFG AT KO's here, I my be swayed). I'm trying to determine all my tire options so when I head to the local shops, I'll know what I can work with for sizing, since some US bra...

Looking to bring back a dead thread here. I'm also trying to determine the wading height on my US 2006 SE. The trail I want to take has some river/creek crossings and I want to make sure that I don't go to deep. I've seen some vids of the local cars doing it, Toy Prados, Fortrunners, CJs, etc just n...

Mud Flaps... different?

Cruising around here in Central America, I'm noticing my Pathy is a bit different from the once bought here: 1. Bumper. The ones here have small red circle reflectors built into the rear bumper. Looks good actually, lol. 2. Mudflaps. I NEED THE ONES HERE!!! On my 2006, I have the hard as nails, mold...

Well, crud..... I filled up the tank yesterday, it was almost on empty... 13 gallons. It didn't click until today that I bet the one in mine is bad now. Of course being overseas now, this may be a problem getting fixed. Anyone got the link for the thread handy for this one? I wonder if it's somethin...

There's adjuster screws on the e-brake pedal assy. Take a look under there.

Also, you may want to check the rear brakes, sometimes poor e-brake holdings is indicative of the rears needing replacement.

Known Recalls and TSBs would be nice to know as well, such as the fuel sending unit and the crash zone sensor. Links to the actual recalls and TSBs would be great as well. Example: Vehicle Make / Model: Model Year(s): NISSAN / FRONTIER 2005-2009 NISSAN / PATHFINDER 2005-2009 NISSAN / XTERRA 2005-200...

The fuel sending unit is a recall item by Nissan, should be zero cost.

Haha, mines hanging by a thread (or sliver of plastic). I think you can just get a screw and a wing nut, and all will be good. Can anyone confirm?

Incredible. Find out the owner of the stealership and talk to them direct. Damn, there's NO troubleshooting on their part, just throwing parts at it. Did they save any of the old ones to put back in (like the ECU!!!) after they fix the harness overheat? Not sure how I would handle your situation. I'...

Nice! Let me know how it goes. The roads here where I'll be living for the next 2-3 years are pretty bad, the Pathy's butt end tends to wallow a bit. I'd like to tighten up the rear. I also want to get a 2-3" lift and bigger tires for it as well. :)

It really depends on the AWD system, type of vehicle, etc In reality, if the driver does something screwy, AWD or 4x4 is not going to help... I've had AWD vehicles and manual switch 4x4 vehicles (cars and trucks). Rain, ice, snow, mud, beach: I rarely use 4x4. If you're buying a SUV or truck, you're...
