Evap control valve doesnt sound too bad but... there is a dealer TSB out that says to reprogram the ECM

Sounds expensive..

Depends on the dealer. It should be a one hour labor charge to do the reprogram. "Should" being the key word!

SES light went off today.
Drove a lot today with multiple shutdowns and restarts.
Still I do not think it was a fluke as on (rare) occasion I have gotten a mysterious whiff of gas for no apparent reason, which is consistent for a failure to close the evap valve I think.

I'll keep an eye on it.
The Evap canister itself appears fairly new on this vehicle.
